Enigma: Emily on the Train to Rome

was an exhibition curated and created by the joint efforts of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers volunteers and staff. The challenge to the group of primarily jewelry makers was to create glass objects with holes to be placed inside a plexiglass box. While the premise was to create something to go inside a box, it was at the same time an invitation to think and create 'outside the box' by asking jewelry makers to create something unwearable. More information can be found at the ISGB website.
The exhibit includes these works as well as the work of 29 other artists and will be hosted at the Ohio Museum of Glass until May 24, 2008.
Then "Out of the Box" travels to the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee, WI. Sponsored in part by Softflex, Inc and Bead and Button, the exhibit will remain in Milwaukee for the duration of the show, through June 8, 2008. It's next stop will be the ISGB conference and housed by the Frank Bette Center in Alemeda, CA through August.
Then it travels to the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.
through the fall of 2008.
